Terms of Use.

The terms you agree to when you use this site, register for a MOVE event, or join the chamber.

Effective August 25, 2026

Acceptance of These Terms

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the MOVE Chamber of Commerce website, your registration for our events, and your participation in our programs. MOVE Chamber of Commerce is a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization. By using the site, registering for an event, or attending one, you agree to these terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or attend our events.

Use of the Site

  • Use the site lawfully. Do not disrupt it, probe it, scrape it at scale, or attempt to access areas you are not authorized to reach.
  • Content on the site is provided for general information about the chamber, its members, and its programs. It is not legal, financial, tax, or business advice.
  • Membership, event, and program details, including dates, speakers, pricing, and venues, can change.

Accounts and the Member Portal

Some areas, such as the member portal and one-click event registration, require an account. You are responsible for keeping access to your email and account secure, and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us right away if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

Event Registration and Attendance

  • Your registration is for you. Tickets and QR check-in codes are issued to the person who registered and are not for resale. Please do not forward your ticket. Register your guests instead so we have an accurate headcount.
  • Accurate information. Give us a real name, email, and phone number. We use them to send your ticket, check you in, and reach you if the event changes.
  • Capacity and waitlists. Seats are limited. When an event is full, we place additional registrants on a waitlist and contact them if a seat opens.
  • Members-only and paid events. Some events are reserved for active members, and some carry a general admission price that members do not pay. We check your membership status at registration.
  • Payments. Paid registrations are processed by our third-party payment processors. Refund and transfer terms, if any, are stated on the page for that event. If MOVE cancels or reschedules an event, we will contact registrants.
  • Changes and cancellations. We may change the date, time, venue, format, or program of an event, or cancel it, including for weather, venue issues, or circumstances beyond our control.

Code of Conduct

Our events are professional spaces. Treat other attendees, speakers, staff, volunteers, and venue employees with respect. Harassment, discrimination, threats, intoxication that disrupts the event, aggressive solicitation, and unauthorized selling are not permitted. We may refuse admission to, or remove, anyone who violates this code or the venue's rules, without a refund.

Photo and Video Release

MOVE Chamber events are photographed and recorded. By affirmatively accepting this release during registration or otherwise providing written or electronic consent, you grant MOVE Chamber of Commerce and those it authorizes the royalty-free right to record, reproduce, publish, and distribute your image, likeness, and voice in photographs, video, and audio captured at the event, in any medium now known or later developed, for promotional, educational, archival, and reporting purposes. This includes our website, social media, advertising, newsletters, press materials, annual reports, and reporting to partners and funders, and it extends to materials produced by an event co-host or partner for those same purposes.

You waive any right to inspect or approve the finished materials and any claim to compensation for their use. If you accept this release on behalf of a minor, you represent that you are the minor's parent or legal guardian and grant this release on the minor's behalf.

If you prefer not to be photographed, tell our staff at the check-in table when you arrive and we will do our best to keep you out of frame. To request removal of a published image, email info@movechamber.org. We will make reasonable efforts to remove it from future materials and existing digital materials under our control, where practicable, but we cannot recall printed materials or content already shared or published by others. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle event imagery.

Membership

Membership benefits, tiers, and dues are described on our membership page and may change. Dues are billed through our third-party payment processors and, depending on the tier you choose, may renew automatically until you cancel. Dues are non-refundable and are not tax-deductible as a charitable contribution, though they may be deductible as a business expense. Ask your tax advisor. We may decline or end a membership that violates these terms or our code of conduct.

Communications

When you register for an event, join, or submit a form, you agree to receive communications from us related to that request, including confirmations, tickets, reminders, and follow-ups, by email and by text message at the number you provide. Message and data rates may apply. You can unsubscribe from marketing email at any time and reply STOP to any text message to stop receiving texts.

Intellectual Property

The MOVE name, logo, site design, written content, photography, and program materials are the property of MOVE Chamber of Commerce or its licensors unless noted otherwise, and may not be copied, resold, or used to imply endorsement without our written permission. Members and partners may use MOVE marks only as described in the guidance we provide them.

What You Submit

When you submit content, such as a directory listing, business description, logo, photo, testimonial, or event question, you confirm that you have the right to share it and you grant us permission to use it in connection with the chamber's programs and promotion. We may edit it for length and clarity, and we may decline or remove anything at our discretion.

Third-Party Links and Services

The site links to and relies on third-party services, including payment processors, partner event pages, and social platforms. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, their availability, or their practices. Your dealings with them are between you and them.

Assumption of Risk and Disclaimers

You attend our events at your own risk and are responsible for your own property and conduct while there. The site, our events, and our programs are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error free, or that any information on it is complete or current.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MOVE Chamber of Commerce and its directors, officers, staff, and volunteers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the site or your participation in our events or programs. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the event or membership that gave rise to it.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold MOVE Chamber of Commerce harmless from claims, losses, and expenses arising out of your use of the site, your conduct at our events, or your breach of these terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Virginia, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as our programs change. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site, register for events, or attend them after an update means you accept the revised terms.
